Social Media
IADPA Bookstores
The Inter-American Division Publishing Association (IADPA) manages bookstores across the region, but their social media presence previously lacked vitality and failed to spark real engagement. When I joined, my challenge was to transform their digital communication into something dynamic and community-oriented.
I redesigned the content strategy, producing visually cohesive posts and stories that invite curiosity, dialogue, and interaction. This not only revitalized the brand’s online presence but also contributed to steady audience growth and stronger engagement across platforms. In Panama, I proposed and launched a year-long Reading Challenge, encouraging the community to read four books, one per quarter. Nearly 90 readers enrolled in the first edition, with author-led virtual meetings creating a unique sense of connection.
While my core responsibility has been content production and community management, the results extend beyond digital engagement: IADPA has strengthened its identity as a hub for readers within the Adventist community, increased bookstore visibility (including participation in the country’s major book fair), and laid the foundation for building a long-term culture of reading and community.
About my work
For nearly two years, I have worked as a content strategist and community manager for IADPA Panama and IADPA El Salvador, two bookstore accounts that operate in distinct markets with different dynamics. My responsibilities include planning monthly content calendars, generating ideas that align with each bookstore’s promotional needs, highlighting specific titles, campaigns, and events, while also creating engaging posts that foster interaction and inspire audiences to read and cultivate consistent reading habits. I design visuals using Canva, produce and edit videos, and travel once or twice a year to capture original photo and video material in the bookstores, complementing my remote work. Despite a limited posting schedule of only eight publications per month, the accounts have achieved consistent growth: in Panama, +754 followers on Instagram and +100 on Facebook (since February 2024), and in El Salvador, +1,100 followers on Facebook and +208 on Instagram.
In addition to managing social media, my design work has also been recognized by the publishing house itself, which now requests me quarterly to create promotional materials for the Sabbath School Lessons—educational resources designed for all ages to study and share weekly biblical themes. I also design publicity for their quarterly training congresses for instructors, producing banners, flyers, posters, t-shirts, and full event campaigns. These projects, especially in Panama, have allowed me to expand my skills in graphic design through Canva, delivering professional-level results that have led to new collaborations and additional projects.
Inter-American Publishing Ministries Congress
In March 2025, I traveled to Panama to participate in the Inter-American Publishing Congress of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where IADPA—the official publishing house and bookstore network of the Church in 32 countries across the region—was also represented. This experience was invaluable in deepening my understanding of the mission and purpose of the publishing ministry, as well as connecting with people dedicated to book sales and distribution. During the event, I produced photos and videos to cover the congress and create inspiring content for social media, highlighting the essence of this ministry that serves both local church promoters and bookstore leaders. I also conducted interviews with authors and captured moments that helped bring the stories behind the books closer to readers.
