Social Media

Summer Camp at Alamisco

For two months, I served as part of the social media team at Camp Alamisco, the official summer camp of the Gulf States Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. My role involved documenting six different camp sessions—each tailored to a unique audience, from children and teens to young adults and families. Through photography and videography, I captured the energy, joy, and sense of community that defined each week. I produced visual content for Instagram, including Reels inspired by social media trends, helping the camp strengthen its digital presence and engage with parents and church communities online. This experience highlighted my ability to quickly adapt to different environments, connect with people across diverse age groups, and translate live experiences into compelling digital storytelling. While the design and branding were directed by the camp’s communications team, my contribution lay in capturing authentic moments and editing visual narratives that reflected the camp’s mission. Beyond technical skills, this project demonstrated my versatility: I combined creativity, emotional intelligence, and agility to produce meaningful content under dynamic and fast-paced circumstances.

Young Adults Retreat

In May of this year, following Summer Camp at Camp Alamisco, I was in charge of covering the Young Adult Ministry Retreat, themed Unbreakable. My role included photography, video production, and creating reels that captured the essence of the event and resonated with the audience. I also refreshed the visual identity of the Instagram page—updating the profile image and overall look—to strengthen its presence and appeal. These efforts were aimed at opening a stronger channel of communication with young people, a key audience for the church. The reels and visual updates helped boost engagement and reach, creating momentum for the ministry’s digital presence.

Online Youth Week of Prayer

In March of this year, I collaborated with the Gulf States Conference during their online Week of Prayer for adults. I participated in the video recordings and took charge of editing the content to be published on YouTube and other social media platforms. Additionally, I created posts featuring key quotes that summarized each day’s message, which helped to launch and establish the Instagram profile for the Gulf States Conference Youth. This project allowed me to combine video production with content strategy to enhance engagement across platforms.

We want to express our sincere gratitude to Mariela Espejo for the excellent work she carried out this summer at Camp Alamisco. Mariela took on the responsibility of creating content for our social media, demonstrating creativity, dedication, and professionalism in every project she developed.

Her ability to communicate the essence and mission of our camp through both visual and written content was outstanding, contributing significantly to strengthening our digital presence and effectively connecting with our community.

We are deeply grateful for her commitment and the quality of her work. Without a doubt, her contribution has left a positive mark on the ministry of Camp Alamisco, and we look forward to being able to count on her talent in the future.
